Documenting liberal kookery

Lately I've been documenting the morphing of the kook-fringe left into the mainstream Democratic party. One liberal I tried to have a discussion with denied the idea that anyone in the mainstream of her party would compare Christians with the Taliban or Muslim extremists. Well, folks, here's the latest on just such a comparison.

Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) recently made the following comment on Randi Rhodes' national radio talk show:

Harkin said Christian broadcasters are "sort of our home-grown Taliban." He added: "They have a direct line to God. And if you don't tune into their line, you're obviously on Satan's line." ~ Via RCP via BOTWT

Hmmm... Sounds like Harkin really wants to reach out to those voters. He must have taken his cue from Howard Dean.
