Reason #48957 why Christianity is not the enemy

Christians today don't slaughter or threaten to terrorize someone who satirizes them.

Which is exactly what Muslims did when a Denmark newspaper printed some cartoons that satirized Islam. (H/T Michelle Malkin)
The publication led to outrage among the Muslim immigrants living in Denmark. 5,000 of them took to the streets to protest. Muslim organisations have demanded an apology, but Juste rejects this idea: “We live in a democracy. That’s why we can use all the journalistic methods we want to. Satire is accepted in this country, and you can make caricatures,” he said. The Danish imam Raed Hlayhel reacted with the statement: “This type of democracy is worthless for Muslims. Muslims will never accept this kind of humiliation. The article has insulted every Muslim in the world.”
And then the paper ended up on al-Qaeda's threat list:
Jyllands-Posten was also included on an al-Qaeda website listing possible terrorist targets. An organisation which calls itself “The Glorious Brigades in Northern Europe” is circulating pictures on the internet which show bombs exploding over pictures of the newspaper and blood flowing over the national flag of Denmark. “The Mujahedeen have numerous targets in Denmark – very soon you all will regret this,” the website says.
But wait, it gets better. This is for all you whackos who believe Christianity is an equal or greater threat to our society than Islam:
Meanwhile in Brussels a young Muslim immigrant published a poster depicting the Virgin Mary with naked breasts. Though the picture has drawn some protest from Catholics (though not from Western embassies, nor from the bishops), this artist need not fear being murdered in the street.
Like a certain Dutch filmmaker.

More examples of Muslim extremism I've documented:
Terrorist with a just cause?
Who's hateful?
Man accused of blasphemy shot dead--guess what religion his killers belong to?
Britain's fight against radical Islam

I'll leave you with a very pertinent Quote of the Day from last December:
Islamist totalitarianism--like Soviet totalitarianism before it--threatens the United States and the aspirations of millions across the world. And, as long as that threat remains, defeating it must be liberalism's north star. Methods for defeating totalitarian Islam are a legitimate topic of internal liberal debate. But the centrality of the effort is not. The recognition that liberals face an external enemy more grave, and more illiberal, than George W. Bush should be the litmus test of a decent left.

Seth, you are soooooo insensitive. Don't you realize that all cultures are equal? It sounds like you are saying one culture is better than another... now I know you don't truly mean that.

Just wait until the next Christian-led armed rebellion. You'll be singing a different tune then.

Actually, we're planning an armed rebellion for next week. Modeled after this one, we plan on attacking Hugo Chavez, as per the orders of our warlord Pat Robertson.

Why Christianity is the enemy, because it believes an enemy must exist.
