Miscarriage by beating

I gasped aloud and felt physically sick when I read this. A teenage girl in Michigan got pregnant, but instead of getting an abortion--which is legal for her to do in Michigan--she allowed her boyfriend to beat her stomach with a baseball bat periodically over three weeks until she miscarried. Then the boyfriend's mom helped bury the baby in the back yard, where police later found it.

I am amazed and saddened that this horrible incident would ever occur. This demonstrates to me how successful the pro-abortion movement has defined the terms of the debate: "terminate the pregnancy," "fetus" instead of baby/child, "right to a woman's body" instead of the right of a human baby to live. This makes me want to fight even more for the truth that I know people identify with, the truth that allows for a "culture of life" instead of a culture of convenience.

UPDATE: I just realized how desensitized I have become to this issue myself. I'm not shocked when I hear about a standard abortion--which can involve sucking the brains of a baby out of its skull or clipping its vertebrae at the neck. It takes a story of a baseball bat to the stomach to wrench my own gut. Yes, this incident is horrendous, but it is extremely rare. What's even worse than a single baseball bat abortion is the 40 million babies killed the "standared" way over the last few decades. That should horrify me just as much, if not more, than this Michigan girl's story.
