Britain avoids its own 9/11 - Four times!

It seems al-Qaeda doesn't just hate America: the British foiled "four or five al-Qaeda planned attacks....since 9/11," according to a British TV station*. The latest unsuccessful attack apparently aimed to destroy targets such as Canary Wharf and Heathrow Airport. The terrorist's plan involved turning airliners into weapons of mass destruction--just like what we experienced on that fateful day in September, 2001.

I cannot help but speculate where Britain (or we) might be had we not taken this terror threat as seriously as we did. How many more Americans, British, or citizens of other countries would be dead if President Bush and Tony Blair had not boldly taken the lead in this fight against the Islamo-fascists that abhor everything we stand for? Would we have 3 or 4 fewer shopping malls--and hundreds of innocents dead? Would our economy be at rock bottom, with Wall Streeters too nervous to invest and consumers too scared to spend? Would Michael Moore still be spouting that "there is no terrorist threat"?

Thank you, Misters Bush and Blair, for your strength and tenacity in bringing the world to a safer place. Other world leaders (or potential ones) lacked the courage and/or wisdom to set the course, let alone stay it. Thank you for understanding the threat that we face in radical Islam, and for your willingness to work for the worldwide good despite significant political differences. I honor you and the men and women you have authorized to protect our freedom and our very lives.
