To terrorists, killing just isn't all that nuanced

Terrorists attacked a hotel in Baghdad with the intent of killing and/or taking hostage the group of journalists staying there. They succeeded in killing at least 20 and wounding 13, according to this report.

Sidetrack: remember back to 9/11 when Michael Moore posted the following on his website?
Many families have been devastated tonight. This just is not right. They did not deserve to die. If someone did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Boston, New York, DC, and the planes' destination of California — these were places that voted AGAINST Bush!
Remember that? Now imagine if someone said this tomorrow:
Many journalists were devastated today in Baghdad. This is just not right. They did not deserve to die. If the insurgents did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing 20 people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Reuters, AP, CNN--these were people that voted AGAINST Bush!
Unless Michael Moore is shuffling around today on his website, I doubt anywould would even think to say this (and actually mean it). Yet it's the same logic that Moore espouses--the misunderstimation of the terrorists' unnuanced view of killing infidels.

Blogger A Wiser Man Than I said...

Just ignore Michael Moore. He's a laughable little fuzzball who is only given power when people like you and I actually take him seriously.
