Rather's replacement

According to Newsweek, CBS is considering high profile journalists from competing networks to fill Dan Rather's shoes when he steps down in the spring. Among the rumored prospects are Matt Lauer and Tim Russert. Also, CBS News president Andrew Heyward's resignation may come soon, say Viacom sources. When asked to comment, a CBS spokesman stated: "We don't comment on rumor and
speculation," said Gil Schwartz, a CBS spokesman."

Is this the same CBS policy that doesn't allow comment on obviously forged documents intended to smear a sitting president?
