Democrats believed in WMDs before Iraq, too

Just in case you were beginning to be convinced that the Dems doubted the evidence for WMDs before the war began--thus making their self-righteous opposition credible now--think again.

Tran Sient has a great collection of relevant quotes from our buddies on the left.

Ah, but does that mean they would've gone to war had they been in power, and mucked it up so royally to boot? I'm inclined to think not.

This doesn't mean that the Dems are perfect, but there was nothing approaching the blind charge toward war and complete squashing of dissent which we saw from Bush & co.

It seems the gist of your argument is "See, some Democrats are almost as bad as the whole GOP."

My argument is nothing of the sort.

Of course it's unlikely the Dems would have gone to war with the intelligence we had. They probably wouldn't have taken out Afghanistan, either. There's a reason the American people overwhelmingly trust a certain party for defense/military issues.

The charge toward war was not blind-- unless you want to call all the politicians on the left who supported the war blind as well. Considering the hyperpartisanship against Bush by the left, I highly doubt that's the case.
