Rossitza Jekova-Goza, violinist

Rossitza Jekova-Goza is a native of Sliven, Bulgaria. Thirteen years ago she came to the United States as a freshman at the University of Central Arkansas to study violin. Her musical training had begun in her hometown when she was five. After completing summa cum laude undergraduate and master's degrees at Louisiana State University, Ms Goza earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. The most influential mentors on her musica journey were violinists Kevork Mardirossian and Linda Cerone, and musicologist Stephen Hefling.

Dr. Goza has made numerous appearances as concerto soloist with orchestras in Bulgaria and the United States: the Sliven, Bourgas and Shumen Philharmonics, the Baton Rouge Company, The Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks, the Northeast Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the Humanitas Orchestra. She is former concertmaster of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Orchestra in Switzerland, where she performed under the batons of Zubin Mehta and James Levine.

Here are the gorgeous pieces she performed:

Sonata, Op. 24 - Ludwig van Beethoven
Sonata in G Minor - Guiseppe Tartini
Sonata for Violin and Piano - Claude Debussy
Havanaise, Op. 83 - Camille Saint-Saens
Zigeunerweisen Gypsy Airs, Op. 20 - Pablo Sarasate
