Britain needs its own FOX News

With the anti-war and politically correct reporting of the BBC, it's no wonder the Brits oppose the war in Iraq. Yet still, even after an attack on their own soil, the BBC cannot bring itself to call their enemies what they are--terrorists.
The BBC has re-edited some of its coverage of the London Underground and bus bombings to avoid labelling the perpetrators as "terrorists", it was disclosed yesterday.

Early reporting of the attacks on the BBC's website spoke of terrorists but the same coverage was changed to describe the attackers simply as "bombers".

The BBC's guidelines state that its credibility is undermined by the "careless use of words which carry emotional or value judgments".

Consequently, "the word 'terrorist' itself can be a barrier rather than an aid to understanding" and its use should be "avoided", the guidelines say.

Rod Liddle, a former editor of the Today programme, has accused the BBC of "institutionalised political correctness" in its coverage of British Muslims.

A BBC spokesman said last night: "The word terrorist is not banned from the BBC."

Perhaps. But "fair and balanced" definitely are.

I personally do not care for Fox News. They are not "fair and balanced" but are conservative war-hawks. That being said, your point is still very important.

The war on terrorism may be unwinnable, but it is unfightable if Britain cannot even call their enemy what he is: a terrorist. Terrorist does conjure up emotions you British dolts, because it's supposed to. That is the power of language, or so I have been led to believe.

What is needed is honesty. If calling terrorists "terrorists" helps the Blair wing of British politics, so be it. One cannot simply choose to remain neutral in all this. I have run out of things to say because it seems so obvious to me.

The reality is that the BBC must feel that these mens are not terrorists. We must be guilty and deserve all this for meddling in Iraq. I realize that this is a superficial explanation, but I can think of no better one.

The BBC has either lost its mind or its conscience, and with one went the other.

Britain does not need an entire network of bad taste, fifth-rate journalism, Bush-worship and misinformation just so you can be assured that people in Britain are hearing the word 'terrorist' enough.
